Agm & Gel Batteries are lead-acid and of the same battery chemistry. (lead dioxide, lead sponge and sulfuric acid electrolyte) but the electrolyte is stabilized differently. The Gel batteries are suspended in silica-based gel as a thick past material, where the Agm is suspended in a fiberglass mat seperators which act as absorbent sponges.
